INTERIOR DESIGN Forecast 2012 – COLOR
The
dominate color is Grey. Warm Grey, Light Grey, Charcoal Grey. On walls,
furnishings, window treatments, artwork, grey will be everywhere. If you can
call stainless steel a color, you will still find it going strong and
everywhere.
Also
coming on strong will be Yellow! Everyone loves its freshness and the lift it
gives to any room. It will
be paired with Grey, of course.
Other
hot color trends in 2012 will include Indigo Blue, Sky Blue, Grass Green,
Greige (beige/green hybrid), ……and still,
Black and White.
In
addition, know that Orange will still be hanging around; Purple is on its way
out and chocolate brown as a wall paint color, which had a very long run, is fading. Expect
to see a lot of natural wood in maple, walnut and rift-cut oak used for wall
accents, counters, flooring and in baths in stain shades of rich browns, ebony,
charcoal and driftwood gray.
